A DVD called
"AD/HD Styrmenn uten ratt" ("ADHD Helmsmen without
a steering wheel" is developed by Lillegården Resource Centre
and Sørlandet Resource Centre and will be distributed to
all schools in Norway during the autumn of 2006.
The interactive
DVD describes the symptoms, causes, and treatments together
with information on getting help and coping.
Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a condition that becomes
apparent in some children in the preschool and early school
years. It is hard for these children to control their behavior
and/or pay attention.
A child with ADHD
faces a difficult task ahead. He or she need to get guidance
and understanding from the public education system. This
DVD offers information from different perspectives on ADHD
and its management, including research on medications and
behavioral interventions, as well as helpful resources on
educational options.
The purpose of
the DVD is to focus on many of the myths and misconceptions
that exists about ADHD.
